Sanitizing and COVID-19 Updates
To Our Valued Friends and Neighbors,
As a local grocer, we know you place significant faith in us, and we do not take your commitment lightly. We want to share the steps we've taken to help prevent community spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19); provide suggestions you can implement, and make sure you have a way to contact us as we work through this situation together.
With the guidance from the Center for Disease Control Prevention (CDC), we have developed plans for the current situation. In addition to all the planning and preparations, our team has deployed the following initiatives to help prevents the spread of the coronavirus:
- Reviewed all cleaning and sanitizing procedures across our stores and have increased the frequency and diligence placed into these efforts, including adding an hourly cleaning checklist to verify every department is being cleaned and approved, including disinfecting our check stands and carts after each use.
- Instructed checkers and front end teams to sanitize or change gloves whenever they interact with cash or checks.
- Increased the number of hand sanitizing and cart wipe stations and refills in all stores.
- Introduced COVID-19 emergency leave policy or the Families First Coronavirus Response Act to assist team members if they get sick or need to care for a family member who gets sick during the pandemic.
- Introduced safety shields at our check stands and pharmacies to help encourage better social distancing.
- Installed floor graphics to help shoppers maintain the recommended six feet of distance while in line.
- Added in-store signage to communicate COVID-19 symptoms.
